1.
Can I have an HMO while a resident at this facility?
Possibly, our facility is not contracted with
HMO providers but we have negotiated individual contracts. In
order to receive Medicare benefits and to qualify for NH Medicaid
while a resident in our facility you MUST disenroll from the
HMO. The facility will need written verification of that Disenrollment.
We will help you with doing this as necessary.
2. Will I be admitted into a permanent room?
Rooms are subject to change as necessary. We will make every attempt
to give you a permanent room. While we strive to keep our residents
in the same room we cannot guarantee this.

Will my bed be held if I have to go to the hospital?
We always try to readmit our residents from the hospital. The
facility does not have bed holds. Your bed can only be held by
paying privately for the bed hold.

Can I have a phone, TV or personal items in my room?
You can bring your personal furniture and items to your room.
Yau can have a TV, VCR, Radio, etc., in your room. Ask about
our guidelines before bringing them, please. You can make arrangements
through Bell South to get a phone line and service OR you can
have a personal cell phone.
5.
How will my stay at the NH be paid for?
Options available are: Medicare,
Nursing Home Medicaid,
Private Pay
Our business office will assist you with a Medicaid
Application. Ifyou are a Hospice patient, the Hospice provider
will assist you with the Medicaid Application.
6. Will I have to pay for any portion of my care?
There is Medicare
co-pay starting on day 21 of your stay, mandated by the Federal
Government. If you have community Medicaid this insurance may
cover the co-pay. If you apply for and are approved for NH Medicaid,
the co-pay will be paid retroactively. If not, you will be responsible
for the co-pay. Our business office will meet with you to explain
this in more detail.

What are the visiting hours at the facility?
Visiting hours are
flexible, however, we suggest the hours of Noon-8PM.

If I do not have Advance Directives, What can I do?
Our Social
Services office can assist you with Advance Directives. The facility
needs copies of all your Advance Directives.
9. How can I protect my cash while at the NH?
You may open a Resident Trust Fund Account and use those monies
as needed for your personal needs such as beauty salon/barber,
transportation costs, etc.
10. Who will do my laundry?
The facility OR your family can do your laundry. Please make
sure all your clothing is marked with your name in permanent
marker. For the dignity of the resident, please make sure that
the name is only visible from the inside. Do not put room numbers,
as they may change. Please supply a hamper or other container
that will fit in your closet for your soiled clothing.
**IF your
family is going to do your laundry, nursing will provide a sign
( "Family will do laundry" ) for your closet.
